Callaway had continued its popular X series irons by coming out with a brand spanking new game-improvement version, the Callaway X-22 Irons (not to be confused with this Callaway X-22 Irons) just in time for an early jump into the holiday shopping season.
There was a time when I thought that Callaway irons were clunky and more than a bit unattractive. Not any more. I just love the look of these new Callaway X-22 Irons.
Callaway has included a lot of their traditional technologies and features into the irons. There’s the Tru-Bore design, but it’s been modified with a vibration dampener. There’s the Callaway notch that raises Moment of Intertia while maintaining the optimal center of gravity. And the Callaway X-22 Irons have Callaway’s VFT (Variable Face Thickness) design, for a larger sweet spot. The perimeter weighting is supposed to offer a 10% improvement over previous models.
What makes it different is a slightly thinner topline and sole, which improves the look at address—a point which I think has been a Callaway weakness, except on their tour level clubs.
As with most golf clubs in the current climate, the Callaway X-22 Irons price has come down of late. Check Callaway X-22 Irons special offer right now!
